100 companies in Germany were interviewed, 50% with 1.000 up to 3.000 employees and 50% with more than 3.000 employees.

The following questions were asked:

1. To your mind should every kind of used software be resalable like other goods?

2. Has your company ever resold unused software licenses or purchased used software licenses?

3. Do you see the possibility to relief your IT budget by purchasing used software licenses?

In addition to these questions we compared the answers of question 3 to the year 2008. Therefore VansonBourne asked a similar target group the same question in a preo survey.
