PC WELT: „Effective Way to Reduce High Software Costs“

It is an affair of the heart, the licence management. That is because the IT infrastructure is the heart of every company. Without software, nothing would work.

Nevertheless, licence management is a big problem for many IT managers: „Currently, many users do not manage and recycle the resource „software licences“ as an asset“, explains Boris Vöge, executive of the preo Software AG. But there are big savings possibilities, because software, although it is an immaterial asset, must be administrated like hardware or office chairs. And like that, is must be recycled – if software is not neccessary any more, in a well-working licence management, it can be selled at a secondhand software trader. Doing so, both in the purchase of pre-owned software and in the sale of unused licences big sums of money can become liquid.
