Monitor: "User stand up to the software industry and enforce their interests"

Monopolistic and protectionistic business practices – that is how the reality in the software industry looked like in the past few years. The software vendors avoided the free circulation of their software on the market.

Like that, they deprived users chances of refinance in the amount of several hundred million euros. But the market is changing. More and more users advance their interests, reports Boris Vöge, executive of the preo Software AG on MONITOR Online. The market for pre-owned software is growing and users benefit from the low priced licences. Meanwhile, some software producers already adapted to the customer needs and act for the purpose of a free market economy. Users should benefit the chances of software remarketing and should not accept the overreaching of the software vendors any more, says Vöge.
