manager magazin ONLINE: „Licence(s) to Argue“

Boris Vöge, executive of preo Software AG, defines it as „market failure“.

„This market failure is caused by the obstinate attitude of the dominating market participants.“ Vöge is talking of the behavior of the software vendors towards the trade with pre-owned software.

Users can sell unused licences to pre-owned software traders and increase their liquidity, or they can buy pre-owned software that is a lot cheaper than new software – but has no signs of usage, because software does not wear down. manager magazin reports that thre are juridical disputes again and again, a neverending story. The integration of the software vendors plays an important role. preo sets great store by transparency, the transfer is as legally compliant as possible.

That is not the case with every trader. So: Whoever wants to buy pre-owned software should compare and not be intimidated by the vendors.
