License management still offers huge potential

A currently published survey makes clear that companies are still less informed about the topic of license management and that this causes an enormous loss of money.

Concerning the survey of Experton Group 57 percent of the consulted large concerns (500 to 999 employees) declared that license management is practiced minimally or even hardly ever. Even shorter is the percentage in case of smaller companies employing 20 to 499 people.

Many companies aren’t aware of how big the potentials of license management are. In case of the large concerns the survey identifies a potential of 800 to 1.000 Euro in average per pc workplace. The upper value has also been established in year 2000 by a survey of KPMG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. 11 years after the values seems to be unmodified.

The experiences of preo Software AG demonstrates that only by standardization and by purchase of pre-owned software savings of 700 Euro per pc workplace are achievable.
