Handwerk Magazin: "Secondhand Programs"

Software, that is 30 to 70 percent cheaper than the original price and that has the same quality like new software – that sounds as if there is a rub in it. Handwerk Magazin reports that saving with pre-owned software actually is not completely without any risk. But by oberserving a few rules, buying and selling secondhand programs offer noticeable business advantages, even for handcraft businesses.

„Software does not wear down, after years of using it still works like on the first day“, Handwerk Magazin reports. Boris Vöge, executive of preo Software AG, gives price examples: Office 2007 is about 30 percent under than the original price, Office 2003 is even 50 percent. For being on the safe side, the software vendor should be involved, reports the special interest magazine. The easiest way is to choose a trader who does this anyway.

The info-box of Handwerk Magazin summarizes that there is almost no risk with the trade of original data mediums. Even the support service is secured: „Traders like preo Software offer maintenance via partner companies for demanding programs like SAP“, says Handwerk Magazin.
