Computer Zeitung: „Pre-Owned Software Reduces Costs“

Software is bought, used, managed – and then? Often, IT managers are not aware of the fact that used software is an asset.

Software Remarketing can be added to the conventional asset management, reports the Computer Zeitung. Pre-owned software can be selled via a trader like the preo Software AG, and can refinance about 30 percent of the original price.

Also the buying of used software pays off: The software prices are up to 50 percent cheaper than the original prices. Thereby, there are no restraints, because software does not wear down. In the transfer process, next to the seller, the buyer and the trader, the software vendor is integrated.

Plus: IT managers, who save successfully a lot of money, can improve their own position in the company.
